Pros
High quality piano sample. The Portable Grand feature provides a rich and warm concert grand piano sound.
The super articulation feature on this entry level keyboard gives it an extra edge.
The 38 Digital Signal Processors (DSP) are high quality and give the regular tones an added dimension of warmth and character.
You can layer and split any of the onboard 622 voices. It' also possible also adjust the volume mix of all the various layers.
The USB port also acts a Digital Audio Interface.
The AIX sound chip in the CTX-700 is a huge improvement over the AHL sound chips in the previous Casio models.

For each rhythm, there are two alternative ending variations, two fill-ins, and two endings.
There is a number pad for quick entry to get to a particular sound or rhythm that you want.
The CTX-700 comes with over a hundred different arpeggiators. This is something that the competitors do not have.

Cons
The speaker quality isn't great, but you'll get quality sounds via headphones.
Super Articulations need to be triggered manually by the front panel button.
The keyboard responsiveness is a bit problematic. Even with touch response set to hard, certain keys are extremely loud.
It's not possible to adjust the volume mix of the various layers.
There is no pitch bend or modulation wheel.
Touch sensitivity isn't great.
The speakers have cloth covers that gather dust and are prone to tearing if a sharp item accidentally comes into contact with them.
